Village of Lake George, NY is seeking a Village Treasurer. The Village Treasurer is responsible for
providing high quality services in the areas of fiscal management, monitoring
and administering the budget, collection and accounting for revenues,
controlling purchasing and expenditures.
Along with other miscellaneous office duties as needed. Must be a resident of Warren County. Appointed by Village Board.
Duties and Responsibilities:
to Village Law Section 4-408, the treasurer is responsible for 1) maintaining
custody of all Village funds and keeping accounts of all Village receipts and
expenditures in accordance with the Office of State Comptroller’s uniform
system of accounts; 2) gathering budget data from various departments and other
sources to prepare a tentative budget for the Board of Trustees; 3) Monitoring
the budget and preparing necessary modifications for Board approval on a
a strong knowledge of government finance, accounts payable, accounts
receivable, cash receipts and disbursements and interfund liabilities. Should have experience in customer service,
excellent communication and organizational skills, and be self-motivated. Must do monthly reconciliations of all funds,
tax cap filing, debt service payments, financial filings, and all other fiscal
operations of the Village.
Education and Experience:
degree or 5 years of equivalent experience; Municipal finance experience
preferred. Must also have experience with Microsoft Office.
Salary commensurate with experience.
